CHATTANOOGA vs. STETSON
This will be the second meeting between Stetson and Chattanooga. The Mocs came away with a 67-63 victory over the Hatters in the 1994-95 season opener at the Southeast Missouri Tournament in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs snapped a four-game losing skid with an 80-60 decision at UT Martin on Saturday. Chattanooga shot a season-high 55.1 percent from the field and made 10 from beyond the 3-point line, the most this season, making 45.5 percent of its attempts.UTC leads the nation in fewest fouls per game and are ranked eighth in total blocks.
Chelsey Shumpert made her return to the starting lineup and was one of four players in double figures against the Skyhawks.
Queen Alford leads the team in scoring with 10.2 points per game while Shumpert and
Lakelyn Bouldin are each averaging 10 points per game. Bouldin drained a career-high five 3-pointers against UTM and leads the team with 20 on the year.
Jasmine Joyner reached 1,000 career points and is fourth on the team in scoring with 9.9 ppg and leads the Mocs with 9.8 rebounds per game. She has a nation's-best 34 blocked shots and is climbing in the ranks toward the NCAA Top 25.
Chattanooga is led by Hall of Famer
Jim Foster in his fourth year on the UTC bench. He has 869 career wins in his 39th year, ranking him eighth all-time. At UTC he is 86-22.
STETSON
The Hatters are off to an 8-1 start on the season with its lone loss coming at Arkansas. Stetson defeated both Robert Morris (68-60) and Weber State (70-69 OT) in the FIU Thanksgiving Tournament and won road games at Northern Kentucky and High Point for a current four-game win streak. The Hatters are shooting 43.7 percent from the field and outscoring opponents by 11.8 points per game. On the boards, they hold a narrow 0.9 edge on rebounding with 36.2 per game. Brianti Saunders leads the team in scoring with 17.4 points per game, a team-high 21 3-pointers and is one of three players in double figures. Breana Bey is shooting 56.2 percent from the floor with 13.9 points per game and 6.1 rebounds. Brittney Chambers is the third player in double figures with 11.3 points per game. Sarah Sagerer had a team-best 9.3 rebounds per game and is averaging 9.7 points.
