Box Score The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team posted a 6-1 win over Eastern Kentucky at the Champions Club this afternoon.  The Mocs won all three doubles and five of six singles matches to improve to 5-4 overall.  The loss dropped the Colonels to 4-5 in the spring.

"We were happy to get a win today," stated head coach Jeff Clark.  "EKU is always one of the top teams in the OVC and they are well coached."    

Senior Katie Polk and sophomore Samantha Caswell opened with a 6-1 win over Viktorija Demcenkova and Margaux Lacroix at No. 2.  Freshmen Mckenzie Barco and Sydney Patton followed with a 6-2 win over Corentine Bodin and Marina Hernanz at No. 3. 

"I thought we played strong at all three doubles to open the match," added Clark.  "It is nice to have that 1-0 lead heading into singles."

Senior Kelsey Coots put the Mocs up 2-0 with a win at No. 2.  EKU got their only point when Escamilla defeated senior Kayla Jones (6-3, 6-0) at No. 1.  The Mocs went on to win the last four matches in straight sets. 

UTC hits the road next week to open SoCon play at UNCG on Saturday, March 5, at Noon in Greensboro, N.C.  The next home match is March 25 against ETSU at Noon at the Champions Club.  Check GoMocs.com for links for live scoring and complete recaps.
