Chattanooga makes its way into its 17th Southern Conference Tournament final. UTC will take on top-seeded Mercer. The Mocs are 23-7 on the year and claimed their 20th regular season title - tied with Mercer. Chattanooga ranks seventh in the league standings for scoring averaging 57.7 points per game and are second in scoring defense, allowing just 52.5 ppg. From the field, the Mocs lead the SoCon making 42.4 percent of its attempts and are sixth in the nation for 3-point field goal percentage defense at .257. Chattanooga leads the nation in fewest fouls per game (11.4) and are second for blocked shots per game with 6.6.

Jasmine Joyner leads the nation in total blocked shots (125) and blocked shots per game (4.17). She leads the league in rebouding with 9.3 per game and is seventh in scoring with 13.0 points per game. She has recorded 10 double-doubles this season, scored a season-high 31 points against UT Martin and three times tied her school record for blocked shots with eight against Wofford and Western Carolina and then again against Samford in the SoCon semis. Keiana Gilbert ranks second on the team in scoring with 12.5 points per game and is 12th in the SoCon for rebounding with 5.6 per game. From the field,she is shooting a team-best 47 percent, just mere percentage points ahead of Joyner (.466). Queen Alford came on strong in SoCon play and is third on the team in scoring with against the conference and is third overall in scoring with 10.9 points per game. Senior Alicia Payne is third in the SoCon in assists with 3.8 and second with a 1.9 assist-turnover ratio.

Head Coach Jim Foster has 864 career wins, ahead of former Georgia Head Coach Andy Landers for DI wins and is tied with Montana's Robin Selvig. Coach Foster is in his 38th year of coaching at his fourth institution.

Mercer advances to its first SoCon Tournament since entering the league last season. The Bears are second in the league in scoring with 65 points per game and third in scoring defense, holding opponents to 55.5 ppg with a conference-best 9.6 scoring margin. From the field, Mercer is shooting 40.3 percent and 31.7 percent from beyond the arc. 

Kahlia Lawrence is second in the league in scoring with 18.2 points per game and Sydni Means is second on the team in points with 9.4 per game. Amanda Thompson leads the team in rebounding with six per game and Lawrence is second on the team with 5.5 per game. Lawrence is sixth in the league in field goal percentage making 44 percent of her attemtps. Means has a league-best 5.7 steals, 2.5 steals and a 2.9 assist-turnover ratio.

Chattanooga and Mercer have met 14 times with the Mocs holding a 12-2 lead over the Bears. Mercer snapped the Mocs 52-game SoCon win streak with a win in Macon but Chattanooga bounced back with a win at the Roundhouse.
