Box Score The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 match at Furman today.  The loss drops UTC to 12-7 overall and 3-2 in Southern Conference action, while the Paladins remain unbeaten in SoCon action at 5-0 and 12-8 overall. 

This is the sixth time in a row these two teams have played to a 4-3 final score.  The Mocs won last year's meeting to snap a 24-match overall losing streak to Furman. 

Seniors Kayla Jones and Kelsey Coots opened with a 6-4 win over Katarina Weymouth and Ansley Speaks at No. 1 doubles.  They improved to 14-3 at No. 1 and 4-1 in Southern Conference play. 

Furman bounced back to win the next two matches and take a 1-0 lead.  Senior Alison Storie and junior Rachele Gazzola lost 6-4 at No. 2 to Harper Caswell and Karlee Bryde.  Senior Katie Polk and sophomore Samantha Caswell fell to Blair Martin and Gabby Rodriguez 7-5 at No. 3. 

Caswell tied it with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Martin at No. 3.  Furman would go on to win the next three matches to clinch the win at 4-1.

Jones battled Speaks at No. 1, fighting back for a three-set win (1-6, 6-3, 6-1).  That improved Jones' singles record to 12-3 at No. 1 and 4-1 in the SoCon. 

Polk scored the other point for the Mocs, defeated Caswell 7-6, 7-5 at No. 6.  It was her fourth win in a row as she moved to 12-1 in the spring and 4-1 in SoCon play.
