Volleyball Heads to Wofford on Saturday

Chattanooga volleyball will travel to Spartanburg, S.C., for a Saturday SoCon match against Wofford at 2 p.m.

CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs volleyball team gets set to start a three-match road swing on Saturday with a 2 p.m. match against Wofford in Spartanburg, S.C., inside the brand new Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.
 
The Mocs enter the contest with an 11-10 overall record and a 4-3 mark in SoCon play after falling in five sets to ETSU on Wednesday. Wofford is 14-6, 4-2 in conference play and has won their last four matches. The Terriers will host ETSU on Friday night before hosting the Mocs on Saturday.
 
Ally Ford and Miranda Elpers both set new career-highs in Friday's match against ETSU. Ford notched 22 kills while Elpers posted 26 digs in the five-set loss. The pair leads the team in scoring this season as Ford leads with 4.63 points per set ahead of Elpers who is posting a career-best 3.38 points per set.
 
Megan Kaufman added 20 digs on Friday and now holds a 5.81 digs per set average in 2017. Kaufman ranks in the top ten across Division I in total digs and digs per set while leading all freshmen in both categories this season.
 
Chattanooga has a week off before heading to Western Carolina and UNCG next weekend on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Both matches will be streamed LIVE and links for those matches can be found on the schedule page.

Wofford holds the top overall winning percentage (.700) among all Southern Conference members this season on a 14-6 record. The Terriers dropped two of their first three conference matches before rallying for three-straight SoCon wins to amass a 4-2 record. They'll host ETSU on Friday before Chattanooga on Saturday in their newly opened Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.
 
Sophomore Catie Cronister leads the Wofford attack with a conference-best 4.58 kills per set average, placing her 12th across all Division I. She also tops the SoCon and ranks third in Division I with a 0.61 aces per set mark. Wofford, as a team, leads the Southern Conference with a .215 attacking percentage while sitting third in the SoCon by holding opponents to a .186 hitting percentage.
