The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team had a busy opening day at the Piedmont Invitational in Atlanta today.  The Mocs took part in two rounds of singles and a round of doubles in the event hosted by Georgia State.

Juniors Delaney Edwards, Sydney Patton and Tamri Chalaganidze all won in singles play.  Edwards had a straight-set win over Arina Taluyenko of Georgia State, while Patton and Chalaganidze won in three sets against Purdue. 

Chattanooga was strong in doubles play, taking three of four from Air Force.  The Mocs are back on the court tomorrow evening.  Due to rain, tomorrow's action has been moved to indoor courts and will begin at 6:00 p.m. (E.D.T.).
