CHATTANOOGA vs. WESTERN CAROLINA
Chattanooga is 71-11 against Western Carolina dating back to 1979. All but one game between the two were in SoCon competition. At home, UTC is 34-5 against the Cats and 28-6 in Cullowhee. The Mocs downed Western Carolina 67-46 earlier this season at the Roundhouse.
 
ABOUT THE MOCS
Chattanooga fell in overtime at UNCG and dropped to second place in the Southern Conference standings. UTC is half a game behind Mercer, both with two losses. If UTC wins out, the Mocs are guaranteed at least a share of the SoCon regular season title.
 
The Mocs are 15-10 overall and 9-2 in league play. UTC is averaging 61.7 points per game and has a slim 2.1 scoring advantage over its opponents. The Mocs lead the league in field goal percentage (.426), free throw percentage (.748), blocked shots (6.4) and rebounding defense (32.8). Chattanooga leads the nation in fewest fouls per game with 10.1/game, fifth for blocked shots, 23rd for fewest turnovers (13.2) and 45th for free throw percentage.
 
Jasmine Joyner leads the nation in blocked shots per game (4.16) and 26th for rebounds per game (10.2) and leads the SoCon in both categories.  She is the only player in the league to average a double-double and recorded her 10th against the Spartans. Chelsey Shumpert, second on the team in scoring, leads the conference from the free throw line, making 82.4 percent of her attempts.
 
ABOUT WESTERN CAROLINA
Western Carolina is last in the SoCon standings with a 2-10 conference record and are 7-20 overall. The Catamounts average 56.8 points and 35.7 rebounds per game. They are shooting 36.5 percent from the field and 29.2 percent from the 3-point line. At the free throw line, WCU is shooting 69.5 percent and has 10.9 assists per game.
 
Raziyah Farrington and Sharae Bonner are both averaging double figures with 10.3 and 10.1 respectively. Bonner leads the team with 9.1 rebounds per game, second in the SoCon standings. Farrington and Tess Harris have 57 of the Cats 123 3-pointers.
