Box Score The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team completed its sweep in Nashville this weekend with a 4-2 at Lipscomb Saturday night.  After defeating Belmont on Friday, UTC needed a strong performance in singles to hold off the Bison.

The Mocs dropped the doubles point for the third match in a row, falling behind to Lipscomb 1-0.  Just like Friday's match with the Bruins, UTC rebounded with a dominating performance in singles.    

"Somehow these women found a way today," stated Chattanooga head coach Chad Camper. "Our doubles was flat and uninspiring but the team rallied and didn't need me to pump them up. We are reaching new heights with each woman's career and we need to keep this fight and keep learning."

Lipscomb actually took a 2-0 lead with a win at No. 1 singles.  Playing on four courts Whitworth Indoor Tennis Center, the Mocs took the next three singles points. 

Sophomore Delaney Edwards won her second in row at No. 2 with a (7-5, 6-0) victory against Medeleine Brooks.  Sophomore Sydney Patton improved to 5-0 in the spring with a three-set win over Denis Buberl (6-3, 4-6, 6-3), tying the match at 2-2.

Sophomore Caroline Hall won her fourth in a row with a (6-4, 7-5) victory against Hannah Gamage at No. 4 to give UTC a 3-2 advantage.  That left senior Rachele Gazzola and sophomore McKenzie Barco on the court at No. 5 and No. 6 to decide the match. 

Gazzola was up (6-2, 5-4) in her bout when Barco clinched the win with a dominating (6-1, 6-1) performance against Jaclyn Findlay.

Chattanooga improves to 5-2 with the win.  Up next for the Mocs is Saturday match against Brenau at McCallie's Strang-Voges Tennis Center.
