The Spartans handed the Mocs just one of its two losses in Southern Conference action this season. In Chattanooga, the Mocs won 58-55. In Greensboro, N.C., the Spartans won 75-72 in overtime.

UTC leads the series 40-7. The Mocs are 6-1 in the Southern Conference Tournament. The Spartans won the first meeting in postseason, 73-67 with head coaches Wes Moore (UTC) and Lynn Agee (UNCG) in the 2000 league tournament. The Mocs have won six straight. The last time the two teams met in the SoCon Tournament was in 2015. Chattanooga won 78-44.

The Mocs claimed their 21
st regular season Southern Conference title, tied with Mercer for the second straight season. Chattanooga defeated Western Carolina in the quarterfinal to advance. The Mocs are averaging 63.1 points per game and 34.7 rebounds per game. From the field the Mocs are shooting 43.5 percent and have topped 50 percent seven times this season. UTC has a 5.2 scoring advantage against its opponents and a 3.2 rebounding margin.

Jasmine Joyner is now ninth all-time in the NCAA for career blocked shots with 432. She has 118 this season and now holds all three top spots in a season in the Southern Conference and Chattanooga record books.

Chelsey Shumpert is second on the team in scoring with 10.9 points per game and has 47 3-pointers and a team-best 83 assists.
Lakelyn Bouldin in the third player in double figures with 10.0 points per game and tied the UTC freshman record for 3-pointers made with a team-high 57.

ABOUT UNCG
The Spartans rallied to come back against Furman in the opening round of the SoCon Tournament for a 68-63 win in the quarterfinal matchup. UNCG was trailing 30-16 after the first quarter and outscored the Paladins 52-33 the rest of the way for the victory.
