Mocs Host UNCG to Open SoCon Play on Sunday

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team opens Southern Conference action on Sunday, March 5, against UNCG.  First serve is set for Noon (E.S.T.) at the Baylor School Courts in Chattanooga.

The Mocs are sporting a strong 9-3 record that included wins in the last three outings.  UTC is 11-10 all-time against the Spartans, including four-straight wins in the series.  Chattanooga beat UNCG 6-1 in the regular season last year and 4-0 in the SoCon Tournament.

"The team is excited about starting our conference schedule this Sunday," stated UTC head coach Chad Camper. "The SoCon is tough so we can't rest in our victories. UNCG is very deep and talented team. Their best tennis is ahead of them and we need to be prepared."

The Spartans are 1-7 overall and have a match at Charlotte on Friday.  Their lone win was a 5-2 victory against UNC Asheville on Feb. 4.
