The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team hits the road this weekend for a pair of Southern Conference matches at Western Carolina and Wofford. The Mocs are 11-4 overall and looking to improve to their 1-1 start to league action.
"We are excited to go play some conference matches this weekend," stated UTC head coach
Chad Camper. "WCU has had many close matches this season so they are battle tested and will be well prepared.
"Wofford is having a great season. They have earned some good wins and they have four seniors on their roster. Playing against experienced programs are always difficult, so we will have to really fight hard to pull out of there with wins."
The Western Carolina match is set for 2:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) on Saturday, March 25, in Cullowhee, N.C. The Catamounts are 11-6 overall and 0-2 in SoCon action. They lost to ETSU 7-0 in their previous outing on March 19. Their other conference match was a 6-1 loss to Mercer back on March 4.
The Wofford match starts at Noon on Sunday, March 26, in Spartanburg, S.C. The Terriers are 9-7 overall and 0-1 in SoCon action. They lost for Furman 6-1 on Wednesday.
The Mocs are 29-0 all-time against Western Carolina, in the series that dates back to 1988. UTC is 18-3 all-time against Wofford, including eight consecutive wins.
