Box Score The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team dropped a 4-1 match to Western Kentucky at Manker Patten tonight. The Mocs drop to 12-5 overall while the Hilltoppers improved to 11-4.
Senior
Samantha Caswell led the way with wins at No. 1 singles and doubles. The match was closer than the score, with UTC up in one of the unfinished singles.
WKU took the doubles point, despite a win at No. 1 by Caswell and senior
Rachele Gazzola. They evened doubles play following a loss at No. 3. Sophomores
Delaney Edwards and
Sydney Patton nearly gave the Mocs the lead, but eventually fell at No. 2 7-5.
The Hilltoppers went up 2-0 with a win at No. 6, but Caswell put UTC on the board with her win at No. 1. WKU closed out the match with wins at No. 2 and No. 4.
Up next for the Mocs is a Sunday match against Furman. The Mocs return to Southern Conference action at Noon against the Paladins at the Baylor School courts.
