The two teams met for the first time last year in the SoCon Tournament final. The two teams tied for the regular season title and Mercer claimed the No. 1 seed. Chattanooga won a tightly contested final, 65-57.
ABOUT CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs will make their 18th appearance in the Southern Conference Tournament final. Chattanooga defeated Western Carolina in the quarterfinal round and UNCG in the semifinal. UTC is averaging 80 points per game in the tournament and shooting 48.2 percent for the field. The Mocs are 16-of-35 (.457) from the 3-point line and shooting 75.6 percent from the free throw line. Chattanooga is averaging 40.5 rebounds, 18.5 assists, 9.5 steals and six blocked shots per game.
Jasmine Joyner recorded a double-double against the Spartans and missed the mark by one rebound against the Catamounts. She leads UTC with 16.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg and has nine blocked shots in the last two games. Also scoring double figures are

Lakelyn Bouldin (10.5). Shumpert leads UTC in field goal percentage making 76.9 percent (10-13) of her attempts and is 8-of-10 from the free throw line. Bouldin has a team-best four 3-pointers and passed Brooke Hand for the freshman 3-point record set in 2005.
ABOUT MERCER
The Bears tied UTC for the league title and posted a quarterfianl win against Wofford and survived a surging Samford effort in the semfinal round to reach their second straight SoCon title game. Mercer is averaging 71.5 points per game in the SoCon Tournament and 37 rebounds per game. Sydni Means and Kahlia Lawrence provided the offense for the Bears in the win over Samford. Means had a double-double with a game-high 21 points and 10 rebounds. Lawrence dropped in 20 in the win. KeKe Calloway lead the Bears against Wofford with 20 points and Means added 13. Amanda Thompson pulled down 12 rebounds against the TerriersÂ
