Box Score The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 match to Samford today.  The Mocs won two singles matches in the regular season finale for both teams. 

Samford won the opening doubles point, but UTC stayed in the match by taking two of the first four singles.  Sophomore Sydney Patton scored a (6-0, 6-1) win over Grace Jennings at No. 4  Sophomore Caroline Hall also won at No. 3, defeating Elsa Pool (6-4, 6-2).

Trailing 3-2, the Mocs tried to continue the comeback.  Junior Samantha Caswell and sophomore Delaney Edwards were locked in three-setters at No. 1 and No. 2.  Both competed to the last shot, but neither were able to pull out a victory. 

UTC enters next week's Southern Conference Tournament in Greenville, S.C., with a 14-7 overall record and a 4-3 mark in SoCon action.  Samford is 12-9 overall and 4-3 in league play.  Seeds for the tournament will be announced tomorrow following the conclusion of all league matches.
