Mocs Travel to Mercer, Wofford This Weekend

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team hits the road this weekend for a pair of Southern Conference matches at Mercer and Wofford.  The Mocs are battling for position in the SoCon race with two weeks left in the regular season schedule.

UTC visits the Bears on Saturday, April 8, in Macon, Ga.  First serve is set for 2:00 p.m. and a link for live scoring is available on the women's tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com.

"Mercer has been playing great tennis this spring," stated UTC head coach Chad Camper.  "We will really need to get up fast on this team. Every position is crucial and there will be no easy wins."

The Bears are currently third in the SoCon race with a 3-2 league record, 11-6 overall.  The Mocs are a ½-game behind at 2-2 and 12-6 overall.

The Wofford match is Sunday, April 9, at 1:00 p.m. in Spartanburg, S.C.  The Terriers are 10-10 and looking for their first league win in four tries.  They host Western Carolina on Saturday before welcoming the Mocs to close out the weekend.

"Wofford has four seniors and is a very experienced program," added Camper.  "Their younger players dove right into their winning ways.

"Intensity will be key for us. Being on the road for a long weekend will be difficult to fight this late in the season. However, we have had a good week of practice and everyone seems dialed in."
