MBB Preview: Three Games in Six Days Starts at Home Wednesday

Rodney Chatman and the Chattanooga Mocs have a quick turnaround with three games over a six-day period starting with Wednesday’s home game vs. Furman.

GAME NOTES | ABOUT CHATTANOOGA BASKETBALL

CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs head into a busy stretch of games this week. The Mocs play three times over a six-day period starting Wednesday as Furman visits McKenzie Arena at 7 p.m.

It's to the road following the Furman contest. A Saturday afternoon affair at The Citadel starts a three-game road trip with a quick turnaround Monday night at Mercer.

But first things first…the Paladins invade Gig City Wednesday. They enter atop the Southern Conference standings at 12-4 overall, 3-0 in league play matching ETSU. 2017 Player of the Year Devin Sibley leads the way at 16.0 points per game.

The Mocs are looking to right the ship after early struggles in conference play. To do so, they'll need to flip a recent shooting trend on both ends of the floor. While they've gone cold since the win at Jacksonville State, the defense has struggled as well.

Three of the last four opponents hit better than 50 percent from the field. That's coincided with a shooting slump for the Mocs falling shy of the 40 percent mark three times over the same span. The splits are 37.4 percent (83-222) for the good guys and 55.2 percent (122-221) for the opposition.

Nat Dixon is on a hot streak, however. He's averaged 16.2 points per game over six straight in double digits including a career-best 20 Saturday against ETSU.
