CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs (7-12, 3-3 SoCon) volleyball team will host Southern Conference leader Samford (10-10, 5-1 SoCon) in its annual 'White-Out' match on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. inside Maclellan Gymnasium. Chattanooga is coming off a 3-0 sweep over Mercer on Saturday to pull into a four-way tie for third place in the current SoCon standings. Samford has won five of its first six conference matches and remains at the top of the table in a tie with ETSU.

Freshman setter Jaquelyn Langhaim was recently named the Southern Conference's Offensive Player of the Week for her play last weekend against The Citadel and Mercer. Langhaim is the first freshman to receive a POTW honor, both offensive and defensive, across the conference.

SOUND OFF
"It has been exciting to start to see the things that we have been working on in practice begin to become more consistent in matches and we are going to really need that, on top of great discipline, at home against a very solid Samford team.

"Our offense has been growing and has been in a good rhythm, and our defense made big strides against Mercer. Our hope is to continue to improve on both sides of the ball and execute our plan and system at a high level tomorrow night."
- Travis Filar, Head Coach

CHATTANOOGA NOTES
LANGHAIM NAMED POTW: Langhaim recorded 56 assists at a 9.33 per set average while totaling five service aces in the six sets. She is the first freshman to earn the POTW honor this season in the SoCon and the first UTC setter since Week 4 of the 2015 season. (Lauren Greenspoon)

SZCZEPANSKI AMONG NATION'S BEST: Junior Dani Szczepanski ranks 28th across all of NCAA DI and leads the SoCon this season with a .378 hitting percentage. Szczepanski leads the Mocs with 151 kills while sitting third in kills per set (2.29) & aces (15). She has totaled nine kills at a .400% five different times this season.

ACES WILD IN SATURDAY WIN: Chattanooga served up 11 aces in just three sets during Saturday's sweep over Mercer. It marks the second-most aces in a three-set match since 2003. Langhaim (4) & Miranda Elpers (3) tied career highs during the win.

SAMFORD BULLDOGS (10-10, 5-1 SoCon)
Samford enters the match on Wednesday with a 10-10 overall record and a 5-1 mark in the SoCon. The Bulldogs downed Mercer and The Citadel in straight-sets last weekend after suffering a 3-2 setback to UNCG two weekends ago. The 5-1 conference record is currently good enough for a spot at the top of the standings alongside ETSU (5-1).

Samford is led by senior Krista Boesing who leads the SoCon with 305 total kills and ranks third with a 3.81 kills per set average. Senior setter Taylor Anderton paces the league in both total assists (860) and assists per set (10.75) while junior libero Grace Tiesman sits third in total digs (321) and sixth in digs per set (4.06).
