Women's Basketball on the Road at Hampton Friday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team will hit the road for a five-day, two-day trip to Virginia. The Mocs will face off against Hampton Friday night for the Pirates second game of the season while it will be the third for UTC.

CHATTANOOGA vs. HAMPTON
Last season was the second meeting between the two programs. The Mocs came away with a 64-52 win and is 2-0 against the Pirates. Lakelyn Bouldin had a career-high 32 points and six 3-pointers in the game. The first game was the second in a tournament in Coconut Grove, Fla., that sparked the longest win streak in school history. Head coach Katie Burrows was a senior on that team that won 27 consecutive games.
 
ABOUT CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs are 1-1 on the year after opening the year with a win over Lee. UTC then fell to the No. 5 Louisville Cardinals in the next game at the Roundhouse. Lakelyn Bouldin leads the team with 24 points on the year scoring in double figures in each game. Eboni Williams is second on the team in scoring with eight points and a team-best 4.5 rebounds per game. Brooke Burns had 10 points in the Mocs' season-opener and is third on the team in scoring with 7.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. She has a team-best five assists. Arianne Whitaker has a team-high five blocked shots with 6.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
 
ABOUT HAMPTON
The Pirates opened the season on the road at Florida Atlantic on November 7 and it has been the team's only game. Hampton was selected to finish fourth in the Big South and K'lynn Willis was named to the preseason first team. Ashley Bates, a junior for the Pirates, had a game-high 20 points and was one of two in double figures in their 72-68 win over FAU. Mahaley was 3-of-8 from beyond the arc and had 12 points, five assists and three steals. Hampton shot 37.9 percent from the field and was 9-of-18 from long range while sinking 13-of-23 from the charity stripe. Hampton grabbed 42 rebounds led by Bates and Kaylah Lupoe who had eight each.
