MOBILE---The Chattanooga Mocs finally found their range in the Mitchell Center in a 74-66 loss to Jacksonville in final game of the Goldie & Herman Ungar Classic. The Dolphins came back from a 10-point Mocs advantage over the final 14:38 to claim the win.

The Mocs came out of the halftime break on a mission. The defense got six straight stops while scoring on their opening five trips to turn a 24-23 deficit into a 33-24 advantage on a three-pointer from Thomas Smallwood. It marked a 13-1 run holding the Dolphins without a field goal for 4:50 of clock dating back to the opening frame.

Jerry Johnson, Jr., gave Chattanooga its biggest lead three minutes later. His 3pt from the right wing made it 38-28 Mocs with 14:38 to play. It was still a nine-point lead 40 seconds from then when JU made its move. It took just a minute for the lead to get sliced to two, 41-39, after J.D. Notae's triple at the 12:48 mark.

David Jean-Baptiste, who led the Mocs with 11 points, answered that three with one of his own on the ensuing possession. Justin Brown's layup after a stop extended it back to seven, 46-39. The Dolphins responded with a 16-4 spurt to flip the score to 55-50 with a Notae layup. It was two of his game-high 20, 18 coming in the second half.

Jean-Baptiste hit his second triple at 7:33 to cut it back to two, but an 11-2 JU run gave it control of the contest. Notae's three with 4:01 to go made it 67-56. The Mocs got no closer than eight the rest of the way.

Johnson and Kevin Easley added 10 points for the Mocs. Jalyn Hinton and DeAnthony McCallum also reached double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

The Mocs remain on the road this week. They return to the hardwood on Friday at Michigan. Game time is 4 p.m., airing on the Big Ten Network.

QUOTABLE
Check out all of what we heard at the quotes link above.
"We were moving the ball well. We were making shots. Whether you move the ball or not, it always looks good when you're making shots. We played well offensively, the way we want to play, and we rewarded by making shots." – Coach Lamont Paris on shots starting to fall.

"We can't relax. Especially with a team that thrives on driving the ball. We have to build stops on top of stops. You can't trade buckets because someone is eventually going to get hot and tonight, it wasn't us." – Junior Jerry Johnson, Jr., on what the team can learn from tonight's performance.
