Sophomore A.J. Lintunen and the Chattanooga Mocs open the season in a familiar setting Friday morning.

CHATTANOOGA---The wait is over for the Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team. This year's opening quintet takes the tee Friday at the Farm for the prestigious Carpet Capital Collegiate.

Coach Mark Guhne tabbed an experienced group for the first outing. The starters are seniors Etienne Brault and Lake Johnson, junior Will Porter and sophomores A.J. Lintunen and Oliver Simonsen.

"You're always excited to get the season started," Guhne shared recently. "The Farm is an excellent venue, and the Carpet Capital is annually one of the top events on the collegiate schedule.

"It's an enormous challenge for our guys. We're prepared and ready to go."

It's a three-day, 54-hole journey at the Farm. Tee times and scores, when available, can be accessed at the live scoring link above.

PGA Tour winners Jordan Spieth (Texas), Tiger Woods (Stanford), Justin Thomas (Alabama), Matt Kuchar (Georgia Tech), Jim Furyk (Arizona), Justin Leonard (Texas), Chris DiMarco (Florida) and Bubba Watson (Georgia), among others, graced the Farm's rolling terrain. Stephan Jaeger, 2018 PGA Tour member, led the Mocs to the 2009 title with a hole-in-one on the treacherous eighth hole.
