Gameday: Mocs Host 2-0 Wofford Thursday

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team will play host to Wofford Thursday evening in the first game of a double-header with the men's team.

MOCS vs. WOFFORD
Chattanooga is 48-2 against the Terriers since the two programs first met in 1996. UTC's two lone losses against Wofford is in the Southern Conference Tournament – Craig Parrott's last season (1998) and in Wes Moore's first season (1999). Chattanooga's win streak against Wofford is currently at 42 games dating back to Dec. 5, 1999. In the regular season, UTC has won 48 consecutive games against the Terrirers.
 
CHATTANOOGA
Probable starters: Bria Dial (2.9 ppg, 2.3 rpg); Morgan Hill (5.3 ppg, 1.2 rpg); Brooke Burns (7.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg); Rochelle Lee (4.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg); Lakelyn Bouldin (12.2 ppg, 2.4 rpg).
 
The Mocs opened the Southern Conference season with a nine-point win over ETSU at the Roundhouse to improve to 6-10 overall and 1-0 in league play. Freshman Eboni Williams posted her third double-double of the season and second straight with career-highs for points (17) and rebounds (11) in just under 20 minutes.
 
Offense: The Mocs average 59.8 points and 11 assists per game. UTC is shooting 38.5 percent from the field and averages 5.4 3-pointers per game. Lakleyn Bouldin leads Chattanooga in scoring with 12.2 points per game and has a team-best 24 from long range. She leads the Southern Conference in free throw shooting, making 86.5 percent of her attempts. Eboni Williams is second on the team in scoring with 7.4 points per game and is shooting 40.2 percent from the field. Brooke Burns chipped in 11 points against the Bucs and is third on the team with 7.2 points per game. She is shooting 75.8 percent from the free throw line and has 24 assists.
 
Defense: The Mocs are averaging 33.8 rebounds per game and have outrebounded its foes seven times. Eboni Williams has a team-best 5.1 rebounds per game and has led UTC on the boards five times this season. Lakelyn Bouldin is second on the team in rebounding with 3.4 per game. Molly Melton has a team-high 23 steals and Arianne Whitaker leads the SoCon with 18 blocked shots.
 
WOFFORD
The Terriers are 10-7 overall and started the SoCon season at 2-0 with wins over Western Carolina and UNCG to push its current win streak to three games. They have wins over former SoCon foes Georgia Southern and College of Charleston, but fell to Appalachian State. Wofford has topped the 100-point mark four times this season for the first time in program history.
 
Probable starters: Chloe Wanink (19.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg); Cairo Booker (7.7 ppg, 4.0 rpg); Jamari McDavid (10.8 ppg, 5.1 rpg); Marissa Bayer (6.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg); Da'Ja Green (5.4 ppg, 3.4 rpg).
 
Offense: Wofford leads the league in scoring with 76.5 points per game. Three Terriers are averaging double figures with Chloe Wanink leading the conference with 19.5 points per game. She is shooting 40.6 percent from the 3-point line with 41 on the year. Jackie Carman has a team-best 46 3-pointers and averages 13.2 points per game. Jamari McDavid is the third player in double figures with 10.8 points per game and is shooting 52.3 percent from the floor. Cairo Booker has 64 assists and Da'Ja Green has a team-best 94 dishes.
 
Defense: The Terriers lead the SoCon in rebounding with 38.9 boards per game. Jamari McDavid has a team-best 5.1 per game and 29 steals. Marissa Bayer has 5.0 rebounds per game and 17 blocked shots. Cairo Booker has 28 steals.
