Women Take on No. 9 NC State Thursday

The Chattanooga women's basketball team will head east to take on ninth-ranked N.C. State led by former Mocs' head coach Wes Moore Thursday evening at Reynolds Coliseum. The game will aired live on the ACC Network. Check local listings for a channel lineup. The game will also be streamed on ESPN+ and Larry Ward will have the call on WFLI.
 
The Mocs are 1-11 in non-conference play with a pair of tough matchups before beginning Southern Conference action in January. Lakelyn Bouldin leads the Mocs with 11.8 points per game and is 22-of-47 from the 3-point line. Eboni Williams leads the team in rebounding with 7.3 per game and had a season-high 12 against Troy.
 
N.C. State is one of 11 undefeated teams in the country with an overall mark of 10-0. The Wolfpack has maintained its No. 9 ranking against this week in both national polls. NCSU is averaging 74.6 points per game and outscoring opponents by more than 21 points. On the boards the Wolfpack is averaging 46.8 rebounds.
 
Elissa Cunane leads four in double figures with 16.2 points per game and averaging a double-double with 11 rebounds per game. She is shooting 64 percent from the field and has started every game. Kai Crutchfield is second on the team in scoring with 10.5, Kayla Jones is averaging 10.4 points and is second on the boards with 7.2 rebounds per game. Aislinn Konig has a team-best 37 assists and averages 10.0 points per game.
 
This will be the third meeting between the two programs and the second in two years. NC State has been ranked in each meeting and has won the two previous matchups, both in Chattanooga.

NOTES
• Third meeting between the two teams … second in two seasons … NC State has been ranked in every meeting … both previous games were played in Chattanooga.
• Wes Moore led UTC to 12 SoCon regular season titles in 15 seasons and nine NCAA Tournament appearances.
• Katie Burrows was on the Mocs' 2004 team, led by Moore, that won a school-record and NCAA-best that season 27 consecutive games … the win streak carried through to the NCAA first round game against Rutgers and ended with a loss to Vanderbilt in the second round. (Many of the Vanderbilt players had been recruited by Jim Foster before he left for Ohio State).
• Lakelyn Bouldin earned her B.S. in Biology on Dec. 14 … she graduated with honors … ranks 20th all-time at UTC for scoring with 1,238 career points … fifth for 3-pointers made with 202 and is the Mocs' all-time leader for free throw shooting percentage, making 83.8 percent of her attempts.
