CHATTANOOGA vs. UNCG
Chattanooga and UNCG first met in 1998 and the Spartans became official members of the Southern Conference in Wes Moore's first season. UNCG won the first four meetings and eliminated the Mocs from the 2000 SoCon Tournament. After that loss, UTC went on a 38-1 run against the Spartans with the only loss being a three-point fall at home in 2007. Last year, without two of its top three scorers, Chattanooga fell in double-overtime to the Spartans in the quarterfinal round of the SoCon Tournament. Freshman Brooke Burns stepped up and scored a career-high 36 points in the effort. UTC swept the regular season.
