Gameday: Mocs at Furman Thursday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's basketball team hits the road for a two-game swing at Furman and Wofford this week. The Mocs will travel to Greenville, S.C., for a Thursday tilt against the Paladins.

CHATTANOOGA vs. FURMAN
This will be the 78th meeting between the two programs dating back to 1985. Chattanooga is 53-24 against the Paladins and won the last meeting at The McKenzie Arena between the two schools by a 73-53 margin. On the road, the Mocs are 21-13 against Furman with the Paladins winning the last two in Timmons Arena.
 
CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs are 11-12 overall and 6-2 in Southern Conference action, second in the league standings. Chattanooga is averaging 62.6 points per game overall and 69.9 against the conference. On the boards, UTC is pulling down 35.2 rebounds per game and is shooting 39.7 percent from the field.


Lakelyn Bouldin leads the team with 12.5 points per game and a team-best 38 from beyond the arc. She leads the SoCon in free throw shooting making 86.2 percent of her attempts. Eboni Williams, the team leader for rebounding and second in scoring, recorded her fourth double-double of the year with 27 points and 13 rebounds, both career highs, against UNCG. She is averaging 8.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Brooke Burns leads the Mocs with 48 assists and is third for points with 7.7 per game. Arianne Whitaker has a SoCon-best 36 blocked shots this season and Abbey Cornelius is second with 19.


FURMAN
The Paladins are 14-10 overall and 6-3 in the SoCon, just half a game behind the Mocs. Furman averages 64.0 points per game and is shooting 40.3 percent from the field. They average 4.9 3-pointers per game and is shooting 72.7 percent from the free throw line. On the boards, the Paladins average 39.2 rebounds per game and outrebound opponents by 3.1 per game.
 
Le'Zjae Davidson leads the team with 16.7 points per game and 60 3-pointers. Celena Taborn leads the league in field goal percentage making 67.8 percent of her shots and is second on the team in scoring with 12.4 points per game. Tierra Hodges is the team's top rebounder with 7.7 per game and Kaitlyn Duncan is second with 7.1 boards per game.
