The Chattanooga women's basketball team will bid farewell to seniors
NaKeia Burks,
Shelbie Davenport and
Molly Melton following Saturday's matchup with league-leading Mercer.
In their four years at Chattanooga, the Mocs have won two regular season Southern Conference titles, two Southern Conference Tournament crowns and advanced to the postseason three times including two NCAA Tournament appearances.
NaKeia entered the Mocs' starting lineup as a freshman and has seen action in 55 games over three seasons, missing most of last year due to injury. In her sophomore year, she had career highs in both scoring and rebounding to help lead the Mocs past Western Carolina in the first round of the Southern Conference Tournament. This year she topped her career-best for steals against Central Michigan at the Cavalier Classic.
NaKeia has earned a spot on the Chattanooga Dean's List, the Athletics Director's Honor Roll and the Southern Conference Honor Roll in her time at UTC. She will graduate in May with a degree in Mathematics.
She is the daughter of Roshawnda and Jeffrey Burks.
Shelbie transferred to Chattanooga after her freshman year. She has seen action in 114 games with 85 at UTC and has started 15 for the Mocs. She led her team to a win over Maine that sparked a season-long win streak for the Mocs. She has over 500 points in her career and 200 rebounds while dropping in 66 3-pointers.
Shelbie has earned a spot on the Chattanooga Dean's List, the Athletics Director's Honor Roll and the Southern Conference Honor Roll in her time at UTC. She earned her undergraduate degree in Sports Administration last May and is currently pursuing an MBA.
She is the daughter of Traci and Mike Davenport.
Molly entered the starting lineup last season at point guard and made an immediate impact. After battling injury throughout her first two seasons, she has played in 43 games the last two with 63 steals and 88 assists. The three-point specialist has scored all but three of her field goals from long range, bringing the bench to its feet with her first against Western Carolina at the SoCon Tournament her freshman year.
Molly has earned a spot on the Chattanooga Dean's List, the Athletics Director's Honor Roll and the Southern Conference Honor Roll in her time at UTC. She will graduate in May with a degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology.
She is the daughter of Reuben Melton and Kim and Richie Parker. She is engaged to Chase Clounch.

CHATTANOOGA vs. MERCER
While the series between the Mocs and Bears dates back to the early days of the women's competition in the NCAA, the two did not meet as SoCon rivals until Mercer joined the league in 2015. Chattanooga leads the series 16-5 with Mercer winning the last three meetings including earlier this season.
ABOUT CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs beat Samford in its return home Thursday and will close out the home portion of the schedule today against Mercer. UTC is sixth in the SoCon in scoring offense with 62.1 points per game and fifth in scoring defense allowing opponents 65.2 points per game. On the boards, the Mocs aveage 35.4 rebounds per game. They are shooting 39.5 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from beyond the arc. UTC is second in the SoCon for 3-pointers made with 5.9 per game.
Lakelyn Bouldin leads UTC in scoring with 13.0 points per game and has a team-best 44 from beyond the arc. Freshman
Eboni Williams is second on the team in scoring with 8.7 points per game and has a team-high 5.2 boards per game.
Brooke Burns is averaging 7.9 points per game and leads the team in assists with 52.
Arianne Whitaker has a team-high 47 blocked shots and is ranked 37
th in the nation for blocked shots per game.
ABOUT MERCER
The Bears claimed at least a share of the Southern Conference title with an overtime win at ETSU Thursday. The Bears lead the SoCon in field goal percentage (.441) and assist-turnover ratio (1.3) and second in eight categories including scoring, 3-point field goal percentage and turnover margin.
KeKe Calloway is third in the league for scoring with 17.7 points per game. Amanda Thompson ranks sixth in scoring (13.7) and leads the SoCon in rebounding wiht 10.6 per game. Shannon Titus (12.0), Linnea Rosendal (9.7) and Rachel Selph (8.2) are among the league's top scorers while Selph, Titus and Calloway are among the Top 15 for rebounding in the SoCon. Thompson ranks second for steals (2.2) and Titus is third (2.0) while Calloway is the team's top 3-point shooter with 59 followed by Rosendal's 57 and 37.7 shooting percentage.
