Mocs Close Out Regular Season at Western Carolina

The Chattanooga women's basketball team will close out the 2018-19 regular season Saturday at Southern Conference foe Western Carolina.

CHATTANOOGA vs. WESTERN CAROLINA
Chattanooga leads the series with Western Carolina 76-11 that dates back to 1979. The two programs are two of the original four women's basketball teams to compete in the Southern Conference. The Mocs won the meeting earlier this season at The McKenzie Arena by a 72-58 margin. On the road UTC holds a 30-6 advantage. WCU's last win over the Mocs in Cullowhee was in 2010 in Karen Middleton's first season.
 
CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs are 12-16 overall and 7-6 in Southern Conference action. Chattanooga is shooting 39.1 percent from the field and averages 61.4 points per game. UTC is shooting 31.7 from beyond the arc and averages 5.8 treys per game. On the boards, the Mocs are pulling down 35.6 rebounds per game and lead the SoCon with 4.6 blocked shots per game.
 
Lakelyn Bouldin leads UTC with 12.9 points per game, 53 assists and 48 3-pointers. Eboni Williams has a team-high 51. Rebounds per game and is second on the team in scoring with 8.6 ppg. Brooke Burns, with 24 starts, is third on the team in scoring with 8.2 points per game and has 52 assists. Arianne Whitaker is second on the team in rebounding with 4.6 boards per game and has a SoCon-best 55 blocked shots.
 
WESTERN CAROLINA
The Catamounts are 4-24 overall and 0-13 on the year. WCU averages 54.5 points per game and is shooting 35.9 percent from the floor, 28 percent from long range with 6.0 3-pointers per game. On the boards, the Cats average 35.6 rebounds per game and 6.0 steals per game.
 
Jewel Smalls leads the team with 10.9 points per game and is second in rebounding with 4.9 rpg. Gabby Smith has a team-best 5.0 rebounds per game including 47 offensive boards. Judith Martin Ruiz is second on the team in scoring with 8.8 points per game and Tess Harris' 8.6 ppg is third. The top three scorers combine for 116 of the team's 167 3-pointers.
