The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team heads to the 2019 Southern Conference Tournament, hosted by Mercer University, this week. The Mocs are the No. 8 seed at the event and open against top-seeded Furman on Thursday, April 18.
First serve against the Paladins is set for 8:30 a.m. (E.D.T.) at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center in Macon, Ga. A link for live scoring is available on the women's tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com.
The Mocs will have their hands full against a Furman team that was 23-1 overall and 7-0 in SoCon action. UTC finished the regular season with an 8-12 overall record and a 1-6 mark in SoCon play.
"This team has faced a lot of diversity this season, but we are excited to bring our best tennis this week to the SoCon Tournament," stated Mocs head coach
Chad Camper.
UTC lost to Furman 7-0 in the regular season meeting on April 7 in Chattanooga. The Mocs are 8-37 all-time against Furman. The Mocs lone win in the series since 1997 was a 4-3 victory at home on March 29, 2015.
The Paladins are ranked 48th in the nation according to the ITA, while Katarina Kozarov is 73rd in singles and teams with Julia Adams for a No. 78 ranking in doubles.

Delaney Edwards at No. 1, Carolina Hall at No. 3 and
Annie Tarwater at No. 6. Hall and sophomore
Emma Van Hee were both 10-9 in singles during the spring season. Van Hee had a 9-9 record at No. 5 and she teamed with Edwards for a 9-8 mark at No. 1 doubles.
