Take Five with Lakelyn Bouldin

The Chattanooga women's basketball summer series: "Take Five" will introduce fans to the 2019-20 roster.

Lakelyn Bouldin may be known to most in the Scenic City for her 3-point shooting ability. Last year she topped 1,000 points in her career at UTC and is ranked in the Top 5 for 3-pointers made in just three seasons. She is also the best free throw shooter, by percentage, in the Mocs' history.

When she is not on campus shooting, she spends her time with family riding four wheelers with her sister Layla, working on the family farm or just relaxing on the couch.

"We do whatever my family – that means Layla – wants to do," Lakelyn said with a laugh. "We do whatever needs to be done whether it's feeding the cows, fixing fences or just taking it easy."

Now that the team has returned to campus, Lakelyn finds herself in a leadership role as one of two seniors on the young squad.

"I've always been one to lead by example," Lakelyn said, "But I'm going to have to work on being more vocal, more encouraging."

Take Five with Lakelyn
Q: Would you rather go to Hawai'i or Alaska for vacation?
A: Alaska. I've always wanted to go to Alaska.

Q: Would you rather win be an Olympic Gold Medalist or a Nobel Peace Prize winner?
A: Gold Medalist.

Q: Who's the funniest person on the team?
A: It depends on the day. I feel like we have a pretty goofy team. It will be Eboni one day and Bria the next. Honestly, anybody.

Q: Would you rather go into the past and meet your ancestors or into the future to meet your great great grandchildren?
A: Into the past.

Q: Why do you wear #33?
A: It was my father's number. I think my granny (his mother) wore it too. And, of course, Larry Bird.
