CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team returns to the tee Monday at the Graeme McDowell Invitational in Birmingham, Ala. UAB hosts the event at Greystone Country Club east of the city.
The quintet of A.J. Lintunen, Matt Smith, Moritz Lammel, Will Porter and Connor Nolan look to get the squad on track after a 13th-place ending in the Carpet Capital Collegiate.
The youthful trio, by collegiate experience, of A.J. Lintunen, Matt Smith and Moritz Lammel led a strong finish with 293 in the final round at the Farm. Porter also was in the initial starting lineup while Nolan, who ranked third on the team in scoring a year ago with a 73.93 average, makes his first start in '19-20.
It's a two-day, 54-hole journey with tee times and scores, when available, accessible at the scoring link above. Greystone Country Club is an easy drive from Gig City. Admission is free.

3 NOTES TO KNOW
- First year of the Graeme McDowell Invitational. The Mocs played in the former event in this date, the Shoal Creek Invitational in September 2017. That event moved to the Spring this season. McDowell competed for UAB (2000-02) before embarking on his successful pro career.
- A.J. Lintunen recorded his career-best finish as well as 18 and 54-hole scores last time out. His 69 over the final 18 gave him a total of 222 tying for 25th. Lintunen played just 15 total rounds his first two years at Chattanooga due to injury.
- The trio of Lintunen (12), Matt Smith (0) & Moritz Lammel (6) had just 18 career rounds as starters at UTC. They keyed the final round tally of 293 which vaulted the Mocs past Virginia for the first "Power 5 Conference" win of the year for the athletics department.
