The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team finishes out the 2020 fall schedule hosting the UTC Invite this weekend. The Mocs welcome UAB and MTSU for three days of competition at the UTC Tennis Center.
"Not sure if it gets any more exciting than this weekend," stated UTC head coach
Chad Camper. "We have had a great fall season and hosting two teams for our invite while being streamed on ESPN+ is a huge opportunity for the program and the University."
Competition begins on Friday, Oct. 30, with Chattanooga taking on MTSU at 3:00 p.m. (E.D.T.). All matches are recorded as individual competitions. There are two doubles and one singles match scheduled for each day.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there are no spectators allowed for any of the matches. However, UTC's MocsVision crew is producing the event for ESPN+. Links to the broadcast, as well as live scoring, are available on the women's tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com. UTC men's tennis head coach
Chuck Merzbacher is assisting with commentary on the broadcast.
Saturday's action includes MTSU vs. UAB at 10:00 a.m. The Mocs are back on the court following the Daylight Savings Time change against UAB on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. (E.S.T.). ESPN+ links for that one are also on the women's tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com.
"Doubles is the main focus of the weekend," added Camper. "We have eight women that can all play great doubles, it's putting it all together that's important."
