Mocs on the Road at Austin Peay Tuesday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team will head to Clarksville Tuesday for a meeting with in-state foe Austin Peay.

CHATTANOOGA VS. AUSTIN PEAY
The Mocs lead the series with Austin Pay 32-8. The two teams began competing in the first year UTC moved under the athletics department's wing in 1974-75. In Clarksville, the Mocs are 14-5 against the Governors.
 
THE LAST MEETING
The two teams met Nov. 24, 2019 at the Roundhouse. Austin Peay edged the Mocs 50-49.
 
ABOUT CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs lost a hard-fought battle against Vanderbilt in their last outing, falling by a two-point margin after leading the majority of the game. UTC was down by nine with just over 30 seconds to play and rallied, outscoring the 'Dores 8-1. UTC defeated Tennessee Tech at home after getting off to a slow start to the season due to COVID-19. The Mocs fell in its opener to UAB and at Troy. UTC is averaging 71.5 points per game and shooting 41.5%. Four different players have led the Mocs in scoring. Bria Dial leads Chattanooga with 11.5 points per game, Eboni Williams is second with 10.3 and Amaria Pugh is averaging 8.0 points per game. Abbey Cornelius has a team-best 9.0 rebounds per game after pulling down a career-high 18 against Vanderbilt. Dena Jarrells posted a game-high and career-best 15 points against the 'Dores and dished out eight assists.
 
ABOUT AUSTIN PEAY
The Govs are 2-1 on the year, falling to Southern Illinois on the road and picking up wins over North Alabama and Trevecca. APSU is averaging 77.3 points per game and shooting 45.6%. Brianah Ferby leads the team with a 14.7 point scoring average. Maggie Knowles is second on the team in scoring with 12 points and a team-best six rebounds per game.
