Head Coach Katie Burrows:
Only the third time in the Mocs program that you've gone to triple overtime. You won the other two times, and you win again today. Talk about it.
"Holy moly. What a battle from both teams who are hungry for wins. That was very evident out there, it was a very physical game. We figured that out early on that it was going to be physical.

"Brittany and I had a couple exchanges where we looked at each other like, oh my gosh, we're just going to have to hunker down and protect and do the best we can because they're not calling certain things, but it was consistent on both ends, so we knew what to expect.

"We just had to play a little more physical game today. Nothing wrong with that, sometimes you've got to gut them out. I'm thankful that in a physical game like this we were able to pull it out. I'm not sure that two and a half months ago we could have."
On the intensity of the game:

"
Absolutely. There was never any animosity on the floor; I think this was just a good, old-fashioned kick-each-other's-butt game. We had a very rough second half with turnovers. I believe we went two or three of the overtimes with just two turnovers. I think at the end of regulation we had 17, so we only had two turnovers in the last 15 minutes, which is so critical.

"That's what I keep telling them and will tell them in the locker room in a few minutes—You took care of the ball; you capitalized even when they were hitting some shots that, holy moly, they were some tough shots and they were knocking them down, but we stayed focused, we stayed calm and collected.

"We took it to them. The good thing for us is that we were able to stay disciplined with people in foul trouble. We had Bria and Nakeia both in foul trouble; Bria had four fouls in the fourth quarter. Super smart, that shows me that I can trust her in situations like that. I'm thankful that we had some folks step up tonight.

"We have four in double figures, Nakeia only had nine, but she's really got those pull-up jumpers working, and they were big jumpers in the extra periods."

When was the last time you saw that you had two players on your team with double-doubles?
"Well, when you go into triple-overtime, that's more likely. I looked at Brittany and said "Lord have mercy, people are going to look at the box score and think 'They scored that many points? Oh, wait, it's triple overtime."
To me, one of the key things, when things started to be a little shaky, it was not taking care of the ball, and passes were going to people in white jerseys and not blue jerseys.

"Oh yeah, again in regulation obviously, that's what turned the table, and they started feeling it a little bit and hitting some shots and some of their kids stepped up tonight and did some things they haven't been doing, and good for them, but we've got to make some adjustments. They say a kid doesn't shoot the three very consistently, but they hit a couple, well hello, they're feeling it today, so you better get a hand up. I feel like that always happens against us. If they don't shoot well, they're going to shoot well against us. We did some good things adjusting, and that was a good one to gut out, and I think this one was a good confidence-booster, too."

The other side of the coin, from the standpoint of watching Lake Bouldin come back alive again with her shooting and ball handling, watching Eboni Williams who put on a show today, you want to look into the future and say, these are the kinds of players that are going to make a difference later on.

"Absolutely. Eboni played with such a cool tempo today. I think for the first half she really struggled with finishing because I think she was trying to finish forward instead of up, and we talked about it at halftime that you've really got to focus on finishing high. I felt like our tempo was fine the whole time, we just couldn't finish, and we talked about it and she was able to correct that and salvage the second half and obviously and additional half of basketball, and she did some other good things, hit her free throws, that was the thing that really helped us. There for a while we were going one for two, can we just hit both, and we really sealed those at the end."

In general, when you get to a third overtime you're going, "Oh my gosh…"
"I'm sure that has happened, but not for me. The competitive side of me is like let's get after this and finish this now, dog fight it out! The foul shots are what did it. And 17 offensive rebounds, we outrebounded them 55-36 and 17 offensive rebounds, we gave ourselves more opportunities, and I was super proud of that."
