Women's Basketball Hosts Samford Saturday

The Chattanooga women's basketball team is on a three-game win streak and working to make it four Saturday afternoon in the first game of a double header. The Mocs will host Samford in a Southern Conference matchup at 2:00 p.m. The Bulldogs are 8-3 in league play and tied with UNCG for first, just a half game ahead of the Mocs who are 8-4.
 
CHATTANOOGA vs. SAMFORD
Samford won the meeting in Birmingham earlier this season by a 60-46 margin. Lakelyn Bouldin was the only player in double figures for the Mocs with 11 and Eboni Williams grabbed a then-career-high 14 boards. Chattanooga shot 36.4 percent for the game and was 4-of-15 from the arc. Samford made 7-of-20 3-pointers and shot 43.6 percent from the field. Chattanooga leads the series 24-8 including six games before the Bulldogs joined the SoCon.

CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs are 8-4 in SoCon play and 9-17 overall. UTC is half a game behind Samford and UNCG for the SoCon lead. UTC has put together a few nail-biters this season including a triple overtime win at ETSU, a buzzer-beater at Wofford and a comeback against Mercer Thursday night for its third straight win.
 
Lakelyn Bouldin leads Chattanooga with 12.0 points per game and moved to eighth all-time for scoring with 1,409 career points. She ranks third all-time at UTC for 3-pointers made with 220 on her plate. Bria Dial has come on strong since moving into conference action. She is averaging 10 points per game and leads UTC with 46 3-pointers. Eboni Williams is the Mocs' top rebounder (8.4/game) and Abbey Cornelius is second with 6.2. The pair has combined for 42 of the team's 87 blocked shots. Williams averages 9.6 points per game and Cornelius has 8.6 an outing.
 
SAMFORD
The Bulldogs are 13-13 on the year and 8-3 in league play, tied with UNCG for the SoCon lead. They average 65.7 points per game and are shooting 40.6 percent from the field. Natalie Armstrong leads the team with 14.1 points per game and Sarah Myers is the team's top rebounder with 7.0 per game. She is second on the team in scoring with 13.9 points per game. Charity Brown leads the SoCon with 155 assists and is third on the team in scoring with 8.8 points per game. Myers is the Bulldogs' top 3-point shooter with 36 on the year and Paige Serup has 34.
