TALLAHASSEE---The Chattanooga Mocs shot 297 followed by 292 on a 36-hole day at the Seminole Intercollegiate Saturday. The 589 total sits in eighth, two behind Kent State and ahead of 47th-ranked West Virginia.
 
Junior A.J. Lintunen led the way. He shot 73 in the morning 18 and came back with a 3-under 69. His 2-under 142 is tied for fourth overall.
 
The 297 was constructed by Lintunen and Oliver Simonsen with 73s, Will Porter's 74 and a 77 from Moritz Lammel. They came back with 292 behind Lintunen (69) and Matt Smith's 1-under 71. Will Porter shot 74 again, while Lammel added a 78.
 
No. 17 Washington is the team leader with 577. That's three in front of host Florida State and North Florida. FSU's John Pak is the individual leader at 8 under. The final round starts at 7:30 a.m., for the Mocs. They head off No. 1 led by Lammel paired with Kent State and a collection of individuals.

• Lintunen leads the field in par 3 scoring at 2 under. Smith is one behind him at 1 under.
• The counting cards tallied 10 birdies in the first round and 16 over the second. Makes it 20 of 22 team cards with double-digit birdies, six with 15 or more.
• E on the par 5s. The Mocs have been under par in every tournament on the long holes with a low of 5 under at the Graeme McDowell Invitational and a high of 14 under turned in three times including the last event in Mobile.
