CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's basketball conducted an unprecedented midseason turnaround and closed out the season on a five-game win streak and a 22
nd Southern Conference regular season title.

The Mocs, 10-4 in SoCon play, shared the title with Samford and UNCG and earned the No. 2 seed following the tiebreakers. UTC will take on No. 7 Mercer Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in the quarterfinal round of the tournament at Harrah's Cherokee Center Arena in Asheville, N.C.

UTC and Mercer split in the regular season with each winning on their home court. This will be the first meeting between the two programs in the SoCon quarterfinal round. The two have met twice before, both in the final with the Mocs winning both games.

Chattanooga is 59-18 in the tournament and 23-6 (.793) in the quarterfinals. UTC was eliminated in the 2018 quarterfinal round by UNCG in double overtime then came back to beat the Spartans last year before falling to Furman in the semifinal game.

The Mocs have won 18 SoCon Tournament crowns, more than any other school in league history and have advanced to the NCAA Tournament 15 times.

• Four Mocs were honored by the league coaches and media.
Lakelyn Bouldin received the Ann Lashley Inspiration Award. Bouldin and
Bria Dial were named to the SCSMA all-conference third team.
NaKeia Burks was named to the SoCon Coaches All-Defensive Team.
Dena Jarrells was named to the SoCon Coaches and Media All-Freshman Team.
• UTC is currently riding a five-game win streak into the tournament. It is the Mocs' longest win streak of the season. UTC went 7-1 in the month of February. That included a triple overtime game at ETSU on Feb. 1 and a buzzer beating win at Wofford on Feb. 15.
• The Mocs have won 22
nd Southern Conference regular season titles. This is the ninth shared title and the first shared by three teams.
