CHATTANOOGA vs. MERCER
The Bears came away with a 50-42 victory over Chattanooga for their ninth victory in the series with the Mocs and seventh of the last eight. Chattanooga leads the series 17-9 but are 6-6 in Macon. In SoCon competition, Mercer now leads the series 7-6.

ABOUT CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs fell to Mercer in the first of the two-game series and dropped to fourth in the league standings. UTC is third in the league in scoring with 66.3 points per game and second in field goal percentage making (42.0%), assists (14.8/game) and blocked shots (3.9). The Mocs average 6.5 3-pointers per game, one off the SoCon-high, and shoot 30.5 percent from beyond the arc. Chattanooga averages 37.9 rebounds per game, and 6.7 steals.
Eboni Williams, with five double-doubles on the year, leads UTC in scoring (13.9) and rebounding (8.7).
Bria Dial, second in the SoCon for 3-point shooter (33), is second on the team in scoring (11.7) and
Abbey Cornelius is third in the league in field goal shooting (.538) and leads the SoCon for blocked shots (28). She is third on the team in scoring (9.5) and second for rebounding (8.2).

ABOUT MERCER
The Bears are in tie for first in the Southern Conference standings at 5-1 with Samford. Mercer leads the SoCon in five categories including blocked shots, assists and turnover margin and in the top three in seven more including scoring. The Bears are shooting 41.1 percent from the field, 32.4 percent from the arc and average 68.6 points per game. Mercer averages 38.2 rebounds per game, 4.9 blocked shots and 9.5 steals per game. Four of Mercer's scorers are ranked in the Top 11 of the SoCon. Jaron Dougherty leads the team with 17.2 ppg and Amoria Neal-Tysor is fourth in the SoCon with 16.9 per game. Jada Lewis is third on the team with 13.1 and Shannon Titus is fourth with 10.7 ppg. Dougherty is second in the league in rebouding with 9.7 per game and Titus averages 7.3.

Bria Dial dropped in a career-best seven 3-pointers, second-best all-time at Chattanooga, against the Georgia Southern.

Abbey Cornelius had a career game against Vanderbilt with a career-high 18 rebounds and matched her all-time best for blocked shots with five.

Dena Jarrells' day against the Commodores had career-bests for points with 15 and she dished out a career-high eight assists.

Amaria Pugh just missed a double-double at Troy with 16 points and nine rebounds.
• Chattanooga is 1-0 in overtime, defeating host Georgia State in the GSU Holiday Classic 73-70.

Eboni Williams scored a career-high 30 points in her first double-double of the year with 10 rebounds. That ranks 35th all-time at UTC for scoring.
• UTC posted a winning non-conference record for the 28th time in school history.

Eboni Williams were selected to the SoCon Preseason all-conference team by the league coaches.
• UTC was picked to finish second by the league coaches and first by the SoCon media.

Katie Burrows begins her third season at the helm. She led UTC to its 22nd Southern Conference regular season title and her first as head coach.
• UTC's schedule was altered after the delay, adding Vanderbilt to the slate. The Mocs and the Commodores have not met since the NCAA second round in 2004.
• NCAA delayed the start of the 2020-21 season due to the Coronavirus pandemic to Nov. 25 causing the Mocs to lose its first four presecheduled games.
