CHATTANOOGA---The 25th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs go to one of their toughest places to find a win. This weekend the Mocs travel to Wofford where they've won just three times in 12 visits.

This group captured a 24-13 win in February over the Terriers in Finley Stadium. That snapped a four-game losing streak in the series. Those four losses were by a combined 23 points.

Chattanooga has won close ones and blowouts. Even the close ones feel like blowouts controlling the game this past Saturday in a 13-3 win over Furman. It's strength vs. strength in the matchup.

The Mocs lead the Southern Conference in rushing defense at just over 100 yards per game. The Terriers run for nearly 220 yards per contest. UTC also leads the league in scoring (18.0) and total defense (294.4).

The last two visits to Spartanburg ended in overtime losses, 24-21 in 2017 and 35-34 in 2019. This one is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m., kickoff.

Last Meeting: W, 24-13; Feb. 27, 2021; Chattanooga
  • The Mocs got their first spring season off with a bang topping Wofford 24-13. The Terriers entered No. 11 in the country.
  • Defense was king limiting Wofford to less than 200 yards of total offense for the first time since the 2017 FCS Playoff loss to North Dakota State...gave up 199 with 148 on the ground and 51 in the air.
  • Devonnsha Maxwell got his monster 2021 calendar year started right with 3.0 tackles for loss including 2.0 sacks. Those were career highs long since eclipsed.
