Mocs at Eastern Kentucky in Morning Tilt

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's basketball team will have an early call Thursday morning with an 11:00 a.m. game at Eastern Kentucky at the Alumni Coliseum in Richmond.
 
CHATTANOOGA vs. EASTERN KENTUCKY
Chattanooga and Eastern Kentucky have met four times dating back to 1982. Chattanooga is 1-3 all-time against the Colonels and 0-2 on the road. The Mocs lone win came in 2006 at The McKenzie Arena. Eastern Kentucky has won each of the last two meetings.

CORNELIUS FOURTH MOC TO HIT CENTURY MARK
Abbey Cornelius has let her presence around the basket be known over her UTC career. She has become the fourth Chattanooga player to record at least 100 blocked shots. She is fourth behind Arianne Whitaker (109).
 
JARRELLS DISHING IT OUT
Sophomore point guard Dena Jarrells leads the Southern Conference in assists with 31 on the year, averaging 3.4 per game.She matched her career-high with eight against Belmont and had seven at Kennesaw State and is ranked among the top 100 in the NCAA.
 
FRESHMEN STEP IN WIN OVER TENNESSEE STATE
Freshmen Addie Grace Porter and Destiny McClendon each scored in duoble digits and set career-bests in the Mocs win over Tennessee State. Porter scored eight of her 10 points in the Mocs' 11-0 run in the second quarter that put UTC up for good in the game. She had a pair of 3-pointers on the night as did McClendon who scored 12 points in the win.
 
BRINGING THE RAIN
The Mocs gave fans a taste of their long range shooting with 10 against Georgia College in the exhibition game. UTC did it again at Kennesaw State in the fifth game, making 10-of-23 from beyond the arc. At Vanderbilt, the Mocs were 8-of-22 from the 3-point line. Dena Jarrells has a team-high 14 and newcomer Destiny McClendon has seven.
 
MONSTER REBOUNDS GAMES FOR CORNELIUS
Abbey Cornelius pulled down 16 rebounds at Tennessee State and 14 more against Georgia State. Her career-best is 18 last season at home against Vanderbilt. She recorded her third double-digit rebounding game this year with 11 against Alabama.
 
PORTER MAKING THE MOST OF ENTERING STARTING FIVE
Freshman Addie Grace Porter has made five starts in UTC's first eight games and took full advantage. The point guard had three straight double-digit games and averaged 10.2 points per game. She had 22 rebounds, nine assists, 10 steals and a blocked shot.
 
CORNELIUS LEADING TEAM IN SCORING AND REBOUNDING
Center Abbey Cornelius has two double-doubles so far this season. Her first came at Tennessee State with 13 points and a season-best 16 rebounds. She recorded her second with her third 20-point game this season against Alabama and added 11 rebounds.
