Mocs Women Host WCU; Welcome Return of Fans

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's basketball team returns to The McKenzie Arena this week to host Western Carolina as UTC returns fans to the stands.
 
FANS RETURN TO THE ROUNDHOUSE
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the rising cases in Hamilton County, fans were not allowed to attend Chattanooga home basketball games. On February 1, the university announced the return of fans to home events in a limited capacity.
 
Fans visiting McKenzie Arena are asked to remain with the group that they arrive with throughout their visit. Fans are also asked to practice social distancing of 6' of those outside their group. All fans ages two (2) and above, are required to wear cloth face coverings. Disposable masks are available for those fans who arrive without their own personal cloth face covering.

There are numerous adjustments to ticketing, parking, seating and hospitality from the normal experience fans are familiar with.  Log onto GoMocs.com for more information.
 
CHATTANOOGA vs. WESTERN CAROLINA
The Mocs lead the series 78-12 against the Catamounts dating back to 1979. UTC won the first 13 games and after back-to-back losses in the late '80s, UTC put together its second longest win streak against the Catamounts with 19 consecutive victories.The two teams joined the Southern Conference together in 1982 and UTC has a 66-9 record against WCU. At home, the Mocs are 36-6 aginst Western Carolina. Last year the Cats ended their 21-game losing skid against the Mocs with a 61-53 win at the Roundhouse.

ABOUT CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs are 5-4 in Southern Conference action and fourth in the standings. Overall, UTC is 10-8 and have five games remaining in the regular season. Chattanooga is third in the league in scoring with 64.8 points per game and second in field goal percentage making 42.2 percent of its shots. On the boards, the Mocs average 37.1 rebounds per game and are second in blocked shots per game with 3.9. UTC is averaging 13.8 assists and 6.6 steals per game. Eboni Williams leads UTC in scoring with 13.3 points per game followed by Bria Dial with 12.0 and Abbey Cornelius with 9.9 points per game. Cornelius leads UTC on the boards with 8.4 rebounds per game and is second in the SoCon  and 24th in the NCAA for blocked shots with 1.9 per game. Williams is averaging 8.3 rebounds and  shooting 44.9 percent from the field. Dial UTC with 36 3-pointers and Dena Jarrells has 20.
 
ABOUT WESTERN CAROLINA
The Catamounts are 5-12 overall and 2-5 in Southern Conference action with games against ETSU to make up at the end of the year. WCU is averaging 56.7 points and 35.1 rebounds per game. While shooting 38.1 percent from the field, the Cats lead the Southern Conference at the free throw line making 76 percent of their attempts. Zanoria Cruz leads the team in scoring 11.1 points and Kyla Allison is second with 10.4 points per game. Nadia Marshall is averaging 8.8 points per game and leads the tem on the boards with 7.0 rebounds per game. Tembre Moates is averaging 8.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game and leads the team in field goal percentage making 52.9 per game.
