CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs volleyball team returns home to the friendly confines of Maclellan Gymnasium for a two-match Southern Conference series against Furman, this Sunday and Monday. Both matches will start at 5 p.m. ET with Monday's match streaming live on ESPN+.

Chattanooga (4-4, 2-4 SoCon) looks to snap a four-match skid after jumping out to a 4-0 start to the 2020-21 season. Furman (2-2, 2-2 SoCon) enters the weekend winners of its last two matches and the winner of the last three in the series' history.
As a reminder, due to ongoing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no fans allowed for this event. Only guests marked on the student-athlete pass lists are able to attend this event.

ABOUT CHATTANOOGA
Chattanooga (4-4, 2-4 SoCon) has lost its last four matches after opening the season 4-0, its best start since 2016 and reaching the mark for just the fourth time in program history. UTC suffered consecutive three-set sweeps last
weekend at Western Carolina following three and five set losses at Wofford.Â

ABOUT FURMAN
Furman (2-2, 2-2 SoCon) enters the weekend with an even mark on the season after suffering a two-game sweep to ETSU on the opening weekend and returning the winning sweep against The Citadel a week later. Furman was slotted third in the Southern Conference preseason poll.

DEFENSIVE STABILITY KEEPING MOCS IN IT
Chattanooga leads the conference and ranks 31st in NCAA Division I in digs per set (17.70) while ranking second in the league and 41st nationally in total team digs (584). Freshman
Paige Gallentine (Fenton, Mich.) leads the SoCon and ranks 57th in NCAA DI with a 4.85 digs per set average.

UTC has appeared in 14 five-set matches since the start of the 2019 season, tying Furman for the most in the Southern Conference. Chattanooga is 3-1 in the 2020-21 season in five-set matches, earning victories over Georgia State and UNCG (2x).
