ABOUT CHATTANOOGA BASKETBALL
Â
CHATTANOOGA---It's that favorite time of year again. The Chattanooga Mocs and ETSU Bucs meet for the first of two, maybe three times in Southern Conference play. The date was delayed nine days and the location changed, but it's here.
Â
The Mocs and Bucs have a long history with this the 92nd installment in the series. The matchup is close to even with a 47-44 record Chattanooga's way, 41-33 when in the same conference including postseason play.
Â
The Mocs come to Johnson City off a win at Western Carolina. They're trying to snap an odd streak of wins on Wednesdays and losses on Saturday with the previous three weeks with that split. The Bucs are 7-2 in the league and have won 10 of the last 13 games after a 1-3 opening. They own a 7-1 home record with the lone loss coming in December, a narrow 65-61 defeat to UAB.
Â
Chattanooga's triumph in Cullowhee included a comeback from eight down with just over 14 minutes to play. It was the fourth time this season the Mocs won trailing by seven or more in the second half. In fact, this resilient group owns 11 wins when trailing at some point in the second 20.
