MATCH NOTES
ABOUT CHATTANOOGA
Chattanooga (4-0, 2-0 SoCon) swept the season series against UNCG (0-2, 0-2 SoCon) last Sunday and Monday in a pair of five-set matches. Chattanooga earned wins in two different fashions, fighting off a UNCG comeback on Sunday and completing its own comeback efforts on Monday. It marked just the third time UTC had defeated UNCG in consecutive matches since 2006.

ABOUT WOFFORD
Wofford (0-0, 0-0 SoCon) will compete in its first match since 2019 after seeing its first four scheduled matches of the spring season canceled or postponed, including last weekend's conference opener against Western Carolina. The Terriers return an abundance of talent highlighted by senior middle blocker Riley Coonan, the SoCon's leader in hitting percentage (.360) and blocks per set (1.18) in 2019.

MOCS OFF TO BEST START SINCE 2016
Chattanooga won its first four matches to begin the 2020-21 season, marking just the fourth time in program history with a 4-0 or better start. The last time UTC started 4-0 was back in 2016. A win on Sunday would notch the first 5-0 start since 2001 and tie the second-best start to a season since 1986. Chattanooga is one of just 15 schools to remain unbeaten with at least four wins this season.

YOUNG CORE LEADING MOCS TO FAST START
UTC's lineup is one of its youngest in recent memory, starting three true freshmen, one redshirt freshman, a sophomore and two juniors. Seven athletes have made their collegiate debuts so far this season. True freshman libero Paige Gallentine (Fenton, Mich.) and setter Sophia Bossong (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) rank among the top freshmen in NCAA DI with a 5.39 digs and 10.78 assists per set average, respectively. Of Chattanooga's 294.0 points this season, 64.7% (190.5) have come from freshmen & sophomores.

FIVE SET MATCHES BECOMING THE NORM FOR CHATTANOOGA
Following Sunday and Monday's five-set wins over UNCG, Chattanooga improved to 3-0 in the 2020-21 season in such matches. Dating back to 2019, UTC has went the distance in four of its last seven matches. Since the start of the 2019 season, the Mocs have appeared in 12 five-set matches, tying Furman for the most in the Southern Conference.
