ABOUT CHATTANOOGA BASKETBALL
CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs added to the 2021-22 backcourt with the signing of guard Tada Stricklen (pronounced TAY-duh). Stricklen comes to the Scenic City with three years eligibility remaining.
The 6-0 combo guard started out at Morehead State redshirting in 2018-19. He moved on to Southwest Mississippi Community College where he played the last season with the COVID year of eligibility retained from 2020-21.
Stricklen started 15 of 16 appearances for the Bears in 2020-21. He registered a solid line of 12.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.
That came on a strong performance beyond the arc hitting 42.4 percent of his 3pt efforts. It came under an impressive workload of better than 35 minutes per contest with just less than a three-to-one (2.8) assist to turnover ratio.
"We're excited to add Tada to our team," Coach
Lamont Paris shared. "He's a very competitive young man who will fit in really well. He's a combo guard that can do a lot a lot of different things.
"He can catch-and-shoot, play the point guard spot and off the ball as well."
He had a strong career at Corinth High School leading the Warriors to the 4A State Championship as a sophomore. He averaged over 20 points per game before heading to Morehead State to start his collegiate career.
