CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs figure prominently again in the Academic All-Southern Conference teams. There are 90 total Mocs honored over the 15 sports the student-athletes compete in league play.

"I'm never shocked by our student-athletes in the classroom," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Mark Wharton explained. "We continue to exceed expectations semester after semester thanks to diligent work first and foremost by a fantastic group of competitors.
 
"Hats off also to our Student-Athlete Academic Enhancement Center led by Dr. Emily Blackman. She and her team expertly shepherd our lades and gentlemen through the collegiate experience. Also, we have to give credit to our coaching staffs for taking seriously our mission to positively effect lives in competition, the classroom and community."
 
Some quick notes on the impressive performance…

• 43 total among the fall sports is a school record
• Program records for soccer (15), football (14), volleyball (tied with 8), men's tennis (6) & women's tennis (tied with 5)
• Seven 4.0 students led by COSIDA Academic All-America volleyball performer Megan Kaufman. Others included: Jonathan Boyd (cross country), Grace Klippenstein (soccer), Quinten Nevenhoven (tennis), Luke Plaisted (tennis), Brooke Sudduth (softball) & Emma Van Hee (tennis)
