2) Details
It's cliché at this point. The Citadel likes to run the ball. The Mocs like to stop the run. It's a story as old as time itself. OK, so that's a little dramatic but still.

The Bulldogs average more than 200 yards per game on the ground. It's attack over the last five meetings has gained…
2017: 405 yards (1 TD) – Loss
2018: 290 yards (3 TD) – Win (OT)
2019: 351 yards (2 TD) – Win
2021 (Spring): 203 yards (2 TD) – Win
2021: 330 yards (2 TD) – Loss

The Citadel's 330 yards on the ground was more than the 299 Wofford (136) and Mercer (163) COMBINED for over the previous two weeks, both on the road.

3) History
Most frequent Mocs opponent all-time playing the 56th game in the series Saturday. Chattanooga is 33-20-2 to the good on that ledger including 7-3 over the last 10. The Mocs lead 26-16-1 in SoCon matchups with an 11-9 mark in Johnson Hagood Stadium.

4) Can They Make it 3?
The Mocs passing attack is running two straight weeks with a 100-yard receiver: Jamoi Mayes (8-121 1TD) against Mercer & Tyron Arnett (6-100) at Furman. If they find a way to make it three in a row, it will be for the first time since the first five games of 2018 with Bryce Nunnelly doing in the first four (includes 10-268 2TD at The Citadel) and Wil Young (13-108) at ETSU.

Seems like it's that guy pictured at the tops turn. Just sayin' Sam Phillips.

5) 3 Notes to Know
  • A win provides 25th season with seven or more triumphs and first since 2016 (9-4). There are four since 1997 all coming 2013-16. Rusty Wright was an assistant coach for all four.
  • Preston Hutchinson is 12th nationally in passing yards per completion (14.56).
  • Ty Boeck needs eight tackles for 300 in his career. He would become the ninth Mocs all-time with 300 or more stops, the first since Nakevion Leslie who amassed 305 from 2013-16. Boeck is currently 12th on the all-time list.

Bonus Thing) Mocs Tri-Pack Ticket Deal
The final home football weekend has two friends at home as well with men's and women's basketball competing in the Roundhouse. For just $25, fans get tickets to all three games with men's basketball on Thursday, Nov. 10, and football and women's hoops in action on Saturday the 12th.

MBB vs. Oakland City, 7 p.m.
FB vs. Samford, 1:30 p.m.
