CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs volleyball team wraps up its four-match homestand with a rematch of UNC Asheville on Wednesday night inside Maclellan Gymnasium during Homecoming week. First serve is slated for 6:02 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

Chattanooga enters the match with a 4-6 overall record following a runner-up performance in last weekend's Chattanooga Classic. UNC Asheville comes in with a 3-6 mark and looks to snap a two-match skid. UTC and AVL met last Wednesday in North Carolina with the road team earning a 3-2 victory.

Eighth all-time meeting between the two programs with Asheville holding a 4-3 edge. Chattanooga earned a 3-2 victory last week in Asheville in the first meeting between the clubs since 2018. UTC has won the last three matches against the Bulldogs.

REMATCH OF A GREAT MATCH
The Mocs picked up a hard-fought 3-2 (25-15, 21-25, 25-22, 20-25, 15-9) win over Asheville last Wednesday on the road. The two teams alternated set victories throughout the entirety of the match with UTC winning the first and the last.

Julie Torbett enters her 29
th overall year at the helm of an NCAA Volleyball program in 2022. Of the 29 years, 17 (1994-2010) were spent in Asheville, N.C., on the bench at UNC Asheville. She compiled a 304-257 (.542) overall record with the Bulldogs and earned Big South regular season championships in both 2002 and 2009, in addition to Coach of the Year honors.

CHATTANOOGA CLASSIC RECAP
Chattanooga finished its annual Chattanooga Classic tournament this past weekend with a 2-1 record, finishing second after falling to Miami (OH) in a five-set title match on Saturday. The Mocs improved to 19-7 in Classic matches since the 2014 edition.

Marcelle Baez-Carlo were named the Chattanooga Classic All-Tournament Team. Tyson finished the weekend with 42 kills and 36 digs while scoring a team-high 47.0 points. Baez-Carlo was a force at the net and finished with 20 kills and a team-best 12.0 total blocks.

FIVE-SET DRAMA
Chattanooga has become familiar with five-set matches so far in the 2022 season. Five of the last seven matches have went the distance with UTC carrying a 2-3 record over that stretch. The five, five-set matches currently leads the Southern Conference with The Citadel trailing with four.

MILESTONE FOR GALLENTINE
Sophomore libero
Paige Gallentine surpassed 1,000 career digs in a Chattanooga uniform during Saturday's match against Miami (OH). Gallentine has recorded at least 16 digs in the last eight matches and has recorded four 20+ dig matches over that stretch.
