CHATTANOOGA vs. MERCER
The Mocs and Bears first met in 1983 in the season-opener with UTC winning in overtime. The Mocs were 9-1 against Mercer before they joined the SoCon in the 2014-15 season. THE LAST TIME THEY MET
The Chattanooga Mocs 'Big Three' combined for 64 points in the Mocs 78-70 overtime thriller against Mercer in the Roundhouse.
Raven Thompson had the hot hand early and ended with a career-high tying 23 points while
Yazz Wazeerud-Din scored half of he r points in the final 15 minutes for 23 as well.
Abbey Cornelius added 18, scoring eight of her points in overtime. Chattanooga shot 83.3 percent from the field in overtime, including a perfect 2-of-2 from deep while sinking eight free throws in the frame. Chattanooga led 16-12 after the first quarter and carried a 34-22 lead into intermission. Mercer erased the Mocs largest lead of the game, 14 points, with a 14-2 run in the third and trailed 44-40 with 10 minutes to play in regulation. Enjulina Gonzalez was a one-person wrecking crew on the Mocs in the closing minutes. She put up a pair of shots to tie the game 48-48 with 6:32 to play and gave the Bears a 54-50 lead with 2:36 remaining. Chattanooga retook the lead with 1:37 to play but Gonzalez put Mercer ahead 56-55 moments later. Wazeerud-Din sank a 3-pointer with 27 seconds on the clock to give the Mocs the lead one more time, but Gonzalez dashed UTC's hopes of a win in regulation with a bucket with 15 seconds. The Mocs called time to advance the ball, but a driving layup was blocked and the game went into overtime.
Sigrun Olafsdottir drained a high-arcing 3-pointer in overtime and UTC never trailed again. The Mocs outscored Mercer 20-12 in the extra five minutes. The Bears pulled to within a point twice, but UTC went 5-of-6 (83.3%) from the field with a pair of 3-pointers and was 8-of-11 from the charity stripe.

SOCON STANDINGS
Chattanooga is fourth overall at 5-3 in the league standings, half a game behind Mercer while the Bears are 6-3 against the conference, half a game behind Wofford.
