GAME NOTES

MOCS WIN THIRD-STRAIGHT ROAD GAME
- Chattanooga (13-7, 5-2 SoCon) posted its third-straight Southern Conference road victory after defeating Wofford 79-65 on Wednesday night in Spartanburg, S.C. The win marked just the second time since the start of the 1997-98 campaign that UTC earned three-straight SoCon road wins (no games in between). Five Mocs reached double figures led by
Sam Alexis &
Honor Huff with 15.
CHATTANOOGA/THE CITADEL HISTORY
- Chattanooga & The Citadel will meet for the 93rd time in the all-time series and for 46th time in the Scenic City. UTC leads the all-time series 72-20 including a 39-6 home record during that span. The Mocs have captured victories in 10 of the last 12 overall meetings and will carry a 10-game home winning streak over the Bulldogs into Saturday's contest.
WINNING WITH DIFFERENCE
- Chattanooga is one of 17 NCAA DI teams this season that has featured eight or more different starting lineup combos. Of the eight different lineups, UTC has posted victories with seven of them which currently makes the squad one of just six NCAA DI programs that have won with seven or more different starting lineups this year.
WALKING THE DOG
- Chattanooga controlled the entire game during Wednesday's win at Wofford, leading the game for 39:26/40:00 total minutes while never trailing. Technically it did not qualify for a wire-to-wire victory as the Terriers first basket of the game tied things up 2-2. The Mocs led by as much as 20 late in the second half during the victory.
MAGIC NUMBERS POINT TO WINNING TRENDS
- The Mocs improved to 15-0 under Earl when shooting 50.0% or better from the floor and 24-4 when registering a better FG% than its opponent after out-shooting Wofford on Wednesday, 56.1% (32-57) to 50.0% (25-50). UTC improved to 8-0 this season when attempting between 20-29 3PT FG's after tossing up 27 attempts on Wednesday.
PERFECTION FROM THE FLOOR
-
Sam Alexis finished Wednesday's game a perfect 7-of-7 (1-of-1 3PT) from the field, tying for a team-high in points with 15. Alexis nearly tied the program's SoCon FG% single-game record (road games) which was set by Alphonso Pugh (8-of-8) on January 17, 2005. The sophomore big man added five rebounds, three assists and a block while posting a game-high +21 in the +/- category.
