CHATTANOOGA (December 17, 2024) --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team welcomes longtime in-state foe Tennessee Wesleyan (NAIA) for its final home game of the 2024 calendar year on Wednesday night inside McKenzie Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.

Chattanooga (7-4) has won seven of its last eight games after picking up a pair of wins last week beginning with a 75-67 road decision over Evansville Thursday night before besting Alabama A&M, 85-63, in the Roundhouse on Sunday. The matchup against TWU (3-7) tomorrow night will be the 71
st all-time in the series' history, the most against a non-conference opponent in UTC program history.

CHATTANOOGA EARNS WIN AT EVANSVILLE, HOME OVER ALA. A&M
- Chattanooga (7-4) picked up a pair of wins last week starting with a 75-67 triumph over Evansville on the road last Thursday night before returning home to handle Alabama A&M in convincing fashion, 85-63, on Sunday afternoon. The two wins were fueled by efficient three-point shooting and strong play from guards
Trey Bonham and
Honor Huff.
TENNESSEE WESLEYAN CURRENT SEASON OVERVIEW
- NAIA-member Tennessee Wesleyan (3-7) enters Wednesday's (exhibition) game coming off a tight 91-85 road loss at Bluefield (Va.) last Tuesday night in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play. The Bulldogs have dropped seven of its last nine including a 91-87 (OT) loss to Johnson (TN), a common opponent with UTC.
BRIEF SERIES HISTORY
- TN Wesleyan & UTC will meet for the 71st time on Wednesday night with the first-ever meeting occurring nearly 98 years ago on January 18, 1927 (UTC - W, 26-25) in Chattanooga. TWU is UTC's most frequent non-conference opponent in program history and is one of six programs UTC has beaten 50+ times (CIT, ETSU, FUR, SAM, WCU).
THREE-POINT SHOOTING KEY TO PAIR OF WINS
- Chattanooga put together its two best three-point shooting efforts of the season during the two wins last week over Evansville and Alabama A&M. In Thursday's win at UE, UTC knocked down a season-high 12 threes before besting the total in Sunday's win over AAMU with 14. UTC shot a combined 26-of-58 (44.8%) from three during the pair of wins & have now made 11+ triples in three of its last four games.
BONHAM TABBED SOCON PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Trey Bonham was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week on Monday. Bonham averaged 21.5 points while shooting 66.7% (14-of-21) from the floor including 58.3% (7-of-12) from 3PT in wins over Evansville (22p, 3r, 3a) and AAMU (21p, 4r, 4a, 3s) last week. It's his first SoCon POTW as a Moc and second overall (2/21/22 w/ VMI).
