HUFF MOVING UP UTC SINGLE-SEASON RECORD LISTS... PART I
- After leading all scorers with 20 points (7-of-19 FG, 5-of-13 3PT) on Saturday at The Citadel,
Honor Huff posted his fourth-straight 20-plus scoring performance and surpassed 500 points this season to become the 22nd Moc in program history to reach the mark in a single season. Huff's 510 points this season is currently 24th-most in a single season at UTC while surpassing current New Orleans Pelican Matt Ryan (2019-20, 507) on the list.
HUFF MOVING UP UTC SINGLE-SEASON RECORD LISTS... PART II
-
Honor Huff knocked down five more 3PT FG's in Saturday's contest at The Citadel, upping his single season total to 98 so far ahead of the regular season's final two games. Huff broke a tie with
Jamal Johnson (2022-23, 93) for fourth-most in a single season and now looks to become the fourth-ever Moc to reach the 100 mark. Huff currently sits fourth behind Stephen McDowell (2007-08, 108), Keddric Mays (2006-07, 118) and McDowell (2008-09, 135) on the all-time 3PTM single-season list. Huff's 98 3PTM this season is currently T3rd most in NCAA DI.
SOCON SHOOTING AMONG THE LEADERS
- Chattanooga enters the week ranked first in the Southern Conference in 3PT FGM (173), second in FG% (48.4%) and third in 3PT FG% (37.9%) during league games this season. The Mocs have produced the second-most points per game (78.1) while ranking third in points allowed per game (71.0). UTC has also made the most of its free-throw opportunities in league action, ranking second with a 75.1% tally.
EARL BROTHERS LOOK TO EACH REACH 20 WINS
- UTC's head coach
Dan Earl recently earned his personal single-season best 19th win during last Wednesday's win over Wofford. Earl's brother Brian Earl (Cornell) recently notched his 20th win of the season during a Friday win over Yale. The Earl's are one of five active sets of brothers coaching at the NCAA DI level (Drew/Hurley/Jones/Miller). This season, only the Drew siblings (Bryce - Grand Canyon - 24 & Scott - Baylor - 19) have accounted for more victories than the Earl's.
WINNING WITH DIFFERENCE
- Chattanooga is one of 22 NCAA DI teams this season that has featured nine or more different starting lineup combos. Of the nine different lineups, UTC has posted victories with eight of them which currently makes the squad one of just seven NCAA DI programs that have won with eight or more different starting lineups this year.
